Country Rose is a new name to 10 years of fine, select breeding in affiliation with Kamelco Park Stud
Run by Melissa and Trevor Sticklen, Country Rose Miniature Horse Stud is situated in the heart of the Lockyer Valley, with views to Toowoomba, Gatton, Helidon and Beyond.
Melissa started showing and breeding miniature horses in 1997 with her mother Colleen Harper at Kamelco Park , Accumulating many awards and championships together at State and National level and after 10 years, decided it was time to go out on her own, The ambition is still the same: To breed Quality Miniature Horses with Color, Class and Conformation. Our true passion is to not only fill this ambition, but to include an all American pedigree to boot!
Over the years we have developed the image of the perfect miniature horse. With this image in mind, we have developed our stud, taking into account every detail the horse has, and working with it to produce horses we have only ever dreamed about. The image of the perfect miniature horse is only a short distance away.
It is hard to resist the way the American Horses look and hold themselves, the high set neck, the high tail set, flat croup, fine hooky necks, extreme dished and fine chisled heads and extravagant movement. In this recent Stud transition, our breeding program has been assessed and we are proud to announce our all American line-up of exceptionally bred mares and stallions.
With a select herd of champion show mares and powerful bloodlines, our program has a strict focus on extreme quality. Animals of versatility; Both fine bodied and poetic in motion.
